Last Updated: October 9, 2026
1. Introduction
Relieve AI LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Relieve AI mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.
Relieve AI is designed as a privacy-first, on-device AI platform. The vast majority of data processing occurs entirely on your device and never leaves it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Processed Locally on Your Device
The following data is processed and stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Conversations and Messages: All chat history, AI-generated responses, and conversation metadata are stored locally using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
- AI Model Files: Downloaded language models (GGUF format), image generation models (CoreML), and audio transcription models (Whisper) are stored in your device’s local storage.
- Knowledge Base Documents: Documents you import (PDF, TXT, Markdown, CSV, code files) are processed, chunked, and embedded entirely on-device.
- Generated Content: Images generated via on-device Stable Diffusion and animated videos are stored locally.
- Agent Configurations: Custom AI agents you create and their configurations remain on your device.
- App Preferences and Settings: Language preferences, model selections, and feature toggles are stored via UserDefaults on your device.
- Face measurements (Passport Photo): To check a photo against an authority’s size rules, Passport Photo measures the positions of facial features (eyes, chin, top of head) on your device. These measurements are biometric-derived data. They are used only to size that photo, are held in memory only while you edit it, are never saved, and are never sent to us or anyone else. We do not collect, store, sell or disclose biometric identifiers or biometric information.
- Age range (where the law requires it): If your Apple Account is in a region with app-store age laws, the App may ask Apple for your age range (for example, “13–15”), never your birth date. The range stays on your device and is used only to apply safer defaults for younger users.
Model downloads are your decision and your responsibility. Models are fetched directly from their third-party host to your device; we do not proxy, mirror, or log these downloads. The App does not restrict its model catalogue by region, and the availability of a model in the App is not a representation that downloading or using it is lawful where you are. You are responsible for ensuring that your download and use of any model complies with the laws of your country and with that model’s own licence. See section 7 of the Terms of Service for the full statement.
2.2 Information Collected Through Third-Party Services
The App interacts with the following third-party services only when specific features are used:
- Apple App Store (In-App Purchases): When you subscribe to a paid plan, Apple processes your payment. We receive a transaction confirmation but do not receive your payment details (credit card number, billing address, etc.). Apple’s privacy policy governs this data: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- HuggingFace (Model Downloads): When you download AI models, the App connects to HuggingFace’s public repositories to fetch model files. HuggingFace may log standard server access information (IP address, request metadata). No authentication or personal data is sent. HuggingFace’s privacy policy: https://huggingface.co/privacy
- DuckDuckGo and Google News (Optional Web Search): If you enable the optional Web Search feature in Settings, the App sends your search queries to DuckDuckGo’s API and Google News RSS feeds to retrieve web results. These services may log standard server access data. This feature is disabled by default and requires your explicit opt-in.
- Apple iCloud (Optional): iCloud Sync, iCloud Backup and Family Pantry store data in your own iCloud account (for Family Pantry, the account of the person who shared it) using Apple’s CloudKit and iCloud Drive. Apple’s privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Apple Intelligence (Optional): On supported devices (iPhone 15 Pro and later, M1+ Mac/iPad), the App may use Apple’s FoundationModels framework and ImagePlayground API. Apple’s on-device AI processing policies apply. See: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Shazam (Optional, “What’s This Song?”): When you tap Listen, the App uses Apple’s ShazamKit. A short audio fingerprint of what the microphone hears — never the recording — is sent to Apple’s Shazam service to identify the song, and the song’s artwork is downloaded from Apple’s servers. The songs you identify are kept on your device; if you choose “Add to Shazam”, that song is saved to your Shazam library, which Apple keeps. Apple’s privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- SharePlay (Optional, “Play & Read Together”): On a FaceTime call, the Brain Game you start (its puzzle seed and level), the name you type and your scores — or the story and the page being read — are shared with the people on the call through Apple’s SharePlay, which is end-to-end encrypted. Nothing passes through our servers.
- Journaling Suggestions (Optional, iPhone and iPad): If you use “Write about a moment” in Journal, Apple’s Journaling Suggestions shows you moments such as workouts, places, photos, music or the people you were with. The App receives only the moment you pick, when you pick it, and keeps it in your journal on your device.
- Apple Health (Optional): With your permission, Health features read the Health data you allow, and Exercise Guide can save your workouts to Apple Health (off until you turn it on). This happens on your device; we never receive your Health data.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:
- We do not use any analytics, tracking, or telemetry services (no Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar).
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other personally identifiable information.
- We do not track your usage patterns, session durations, or feature usage.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or serve ads.
- We do not create user profiles or behavioral models.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data to third parties.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not collect your contacts or health data. Features that use them, with your permission, do so on your device, and that data is never sent to us.
3. Device Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions, each of which requires your explicit consent:
| Permission | Purpose | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone | Speech-to-text voice input for AI conversations; identifying a song that’s playing (“What’s This Song?”) | Optional |
| Photo Library | Import images/videos for AI analysis; save generated images | Optional |
| Calendar | AI agent integration for daily briefings and scheduling | Optional |
| Reminders | AI agent integration for task management | Optional |
| Notifications | Alerts for completed AI tasks (especially on Apple Watch) | Optional |
| Speech Recognition | On-device speech processing for voice input | Optional |
| Apple Health | Reading the Health data you allow for Health features; saving workouts from Exercise Guide | Optional |
All permissions are optional. The App functions without granting any of these permissions, though certain features will be unavailable.
4. How We Use Information
Since we do not collect user data on our servers, our “use” of information is limited to:
- On-Device Processing: Running AI models locally to generate responses, images, transcriptions, and other content based on your inputs.
- Subscription Management: Verifying your subscription status through Apple’s StoreKit framework to unlock premium features.
- Model Downloads: Facilitating the download of AI model files from public HuggingFace repositories to your device.
- Web Search Results: When enabled, fetching web search results to augment AI responses with current information.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All user-generated data (conversations, documents, images, agents) is stored on your device in the app’s sandboxed container.
- Encryption: Data at rest benefits from Apple’s hardware-level device encryption (Data Protection). In-app purchase transactions use Apple’s encrypted verification.
- iCloud (Optional, Your Own Account): If you turn on iCloud Sync or iCloud Backup, your data is stored in your own iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit and iCloud Drive, and syncs only between devices signed in to that account. We have no access to it. Deleting the App deletes the data on that device; the iCloud copy stays until you delete it in the App or in your iCloud settings.
- Family Pantry (Optional): If you share your Pantry with family, the pantry and shopping list are kept in the iCloud account of the person who shared it, and the people they invite can see and change them, along with the name of whoever last changed each item. Item contents are end-to-end encrypted by CloudKit, so neither Apple nor we can read them. Each person’s eating log and Health entries are never shared. Anyone can leave, and the person who shared it can stop sharing, at any time.
- Use Your Mac (Optional): If you pair your iPhone or iPad with Relieve AI on your own Mac, your chats (with any photos or video frames you ask about) and picture requests (with any photos you ask it to change in Photo Remix) may be sent to that Mac over your local network so its on-device models can answer them or make the pictures. The connection runs directly between your two devices, is end-to-end encrypted, and never passes through the internet or any server. The Mac does not save these conversations, photos or pictures. If your iPhone or iPad hasn’t collected a finished picture yet (for example, because you left the App while it was being drawn), the Mac holds it in memory only, for up to ten minutes, and then discards it. Either device can unpair at any time.
- Model Files: Downloaded AI models are stored in your device’s Documents directory and can be managed (deleted) within the App.
6. Data Retention
- On-Device Data: Retained on your device until you manually delete it within the App or uninstall the App. Free-tier users have a 30-day conversation history limit; Pro users have unlimited history retention.
- Subscription Records: Managed by Apple and subject to Apple’s data retention policies.
- Server-Side Data: We do not maintain servers that store user data, so there is no server-side retention.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the App does not collect personal information from any users, this risk is inherently mitigated. If you believe a child under 13 has somehow provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to address the concern.
8. International Data Transfers
Because all data processing occurs on your device, there are no international data transfers of your personal data by us. When you use optional features (web search, model downloads), your device connects directly to third-party servers, and standard internet routing applies.
9. Your Rights and Choices
You have full control over your data:
- Access and Deletion: All your data is stored locally on your device. You can view, export, or delete conversations, documents, and generated content at any time within the App.
- Permission Control: You can grant or revoke any device permission at any time through your device’s Settings app.
- Web Search: You can enable or disable the Web Search feature at any time in the App’s Settings.
- Subscription: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
- Complete Data Removal: Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with applicable data protection laws, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because we do not collect, sell, or share personal information, these rights are inherently satisfied. We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
11. Third-Party Links
The App may display web search results that link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, providing notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
